Private Dwelling, Co Waterford:

This Protected Structure was the childhood home of our client who wished to return and live in the house again. This property was infested with woodworm and suffered from dry and wet rot. The project involved treating the rot and woodworm, replacing any degraded materials while sympathetically repairing the building fabric including skirting architraves and cornices. A bi-spoke sunroom, constructed of blockwork walls and galvanised steel columns, beams and rainwater goods, was designed inhouse to maximise the solar gain into the property and provide a useful lounge space for our client while remaining in keeping to the original building design.

The original oil fired aga, which was used for space and water heating was replaced with a combination of solar, oil and solid fuel while the aga was refurbished by specialists and used for cooking only.
